Definition and etymology
The term erotology is a neologism composed of the greek word 'Ἔρωτος [Erotos]', genitive of 'Ἔρως [“Eros”]', and the greek suffix '-λογία [-logia]' - 'explanation'. Thus erotology literally means 'explation of love'.
This neologism is used as a scientific term for the study of sexuality and its physiological und soziological aspects.
